I’ve spent two days customizing my desktop. This is what I’m capable of dealing with at the moment. My desktop is a microcosm of the life I yearn for. Clean, simple, everything in its place and content with it’s purpose. Life is messy, I have little influence… my desktop is safe. What does this have to do with anything? Nothing… or maybe everything… don’t ask me!
Instead, leave this place. Only foolish dreamers live here. Go visit Shephard. Shephard may be a dreamer, but he’s no fool. And he has wisdom. He writes things that demand that you respond. This is no exception, but I haven’t the capacity to respond right now. Too many runaway processes sucking up CPU cycles in my wetware.
Note to self: Focus!
April 7 @ 5:44 amMy first writing assignment, and my first movie review ever, is now “in the can.” I had a chance last night to see a press screening of the new release, Phat Girlz. I wouldn’t have chosen to see this movie of my own free will, but I found myself pleasantly suprised. In the end, I left the theater with a light heart and a smile on my face. And that’s not such a bad thing now is it?

April 4 @ 2:10 pmI doubt it… but someone just reminded me that tomorrow morning is special. At 3 seconds past 1:02 in the morning it will be 01:02:03 04/05/06! How cool is that? I doubt I’ll get up to celebrate though… ![]()
March 29 @ 10:39 amNot to pick on poor Lisa, but this is the funniest danged thing I’ve read in recent memory. It’s nice knowing that stuff like this happens to other people too! ![]()
March 17 @ 11:48 pmThe comments here are about this fund raiser. Another opportunity to perform a random act of kindness. Really, you should try it… support someone you don’t know with a few bucks. It’s a small thing but you make a difference and connect with people you might never meet otherwise. Also… it feels good, trust me on this!

March 14 @ 7:22 pmFriend Kelly is raising money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. In August she’ll be walking 60 miles as part of the Breast Cancer 3-Day. Consider performing a random act of kindness today and contribute a few dollars in support of this worthwhile effort.
March 13 @ 9:00 pmContrary to what Big Dave’s friend Bob has to say, I identify as a nerd. And as a nerd, part of my daily routine is surfing by Slashdot to see what’s up with my brother and sister nerds from around the world.
Today finds a raging debate about the history of invention from various world cultures. It was sparked by an article published in the The Independent newspaper from the UK.
From coffee to cheques and the three-course meal, the Muslim world has given us many innovations that we take for granted in daily life.
I admit I was suprised by some of the inventions in the top 20 list. The Slashdot debate makes a few interesting points regarding it though. Are these Islamic inventions? Or are they inventions from people who happened to live in a part of the world we associate with Islam? As for me, I’m no scholar of history… I’m just glad *someone* invented these things, as I certainly enjoy the fruits of their labor.
