January 6 @ 1:35 amI feel a meme coming on… stolen from Sandra
December 11 @ 10:25 pmOk this meme looked interesting. I saw it a SilverWillow’s and at Lisa’s… so I figure, no harm might as well try it right? Wrong… why oh why did I do this one? If I could take it back… oh why, why me? *sob* It’s over… it’s all over..
November 21 @ 4:21 pmI haven’t done a meme for a while and this one looked interesting… stole it from Leesa and SilverWillow!
October 14 @ 12:58 pmAgain, this isn’t the photo I intended for today’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme “Lost.” I had a great motorcycle photo and I was going to do a post on how we often get “lost” on purpose just to discover new roads and explore. That was before I woke up at 4am. My first thought was “Ouch ouch ouch.” Then it occurred to me that I’ve experienced this pain before. Yeah, kidney stones. I’m on allopurinol to deal with them and I haven’t had any problems for a couple of years. Until this morning.
I elected not to go to the hospital right away. I figured I’d push fluids and see how things progressed. I have a high pain threshold… but it still hurt like hell mind you. I’m pleased to say the crisis has… ahem… passed. Capturing the stone is necessary so the docs can analyze it and see if my meds need to be adjusted. The photo was a fringe benefit.
Definately glad to have “lost” this stone!
October 6 @ 11:48 pmThis week’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is “sleeping.” I had an old photo of my daughter in mind, but of course now that I want to use it I can’t seem to turn it up. So I had to go with a backup photo. Just as well, there isn’t much that is as cute as a sleeping kitten now is there?!
September 29 @ 10:02 pmThis week’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is “Comfy.” This is my riding partner Jim getting comfy at Windy Ridge near Mt. St. Helens. Both of us wear full armor while riding. That means jacket, pants, gloves, boots and a full-face helmet. We’re often asked “Don’t you get hot wearing all that?” The answer is that you stay pretty comfortable when you’re at speed, but yes, once you stop you do tend to heat up if the sun is out and the temperate is warm. Jim especially likes to strip down to whatever he’s wearing under the gear. I don’t know if he just tends to be warmer or if he’s a closet exhibitionist.
September 19 @ 8:51 amStacie has started a new meme for Tuesdays that has you posting video clips. My first one is of course, motorcycling! This is a video I did a while back but never posted to my blog. This is a short clip of a run through the Gilford Pinchot National Forest. I confess, I used this one because it was all ready to go! I’ll try to come up with something besides motorcycling videos in the future!
September 15 @ 11:01 pmThis week’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is “looking up!” And often when I’m looking up, it’s because I’m at an airshow. So… guess what you get this week!
Yep, an aviation photo! This is a US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle. It’s a two place fighter bomber. The pilot sits in front and the weapons systems officer sits in the back. This photo was taken at the Abbotsford International Airshow in Canada this year. This particular aircraft is special because it’s from Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC. This happens to be the last Air Force base I was stationed at before I got out. At that time they were flying the venerable F-4 Phantom and just about to start transitioning to this new bird.
September 8 @ 10:13 pmThis week’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is “Food.”
This photo was from my daughter’s 10th birthday earlier this year. It’s one of my favorite photos that feature food!
September 1 @ 7:29 pmThis weeks Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is “On The Road.” Holy cow, can you think of a more perfect theme for me? I had to pull out all the stops on this one, I mean how can I pick just a one or two or even three photos for a fantastic theme like this?
So… I went back through over a year’s worth of motorcycle trips and picked my favorites, arranged them in a slide show and set them to music. The result is just a little over three minutes long. Enjoy!
