Long, Strange Week

I haven’t had the energy or interest to post much lately, sorry! Things have just been, I dunno, “blah” lately. I spent the first part of the week sick, dealing with several days of throbbing headache. That was followed by several days (nights?) of insomnia. I get that way sometimes. I lay in bed but my mind refuses to turn off. Normally it’s not that I’m worried about anything, I just can’t get my thoughts to slow down, whatever they are. I often wind up plugging in head phones and drowning out the thoughts with music. Most of the time that works.

On the plus side, my sister is coming to town next week! We haven’t seen each other for many, many years. It’s just two days and she’s here on business, but we’ll have most of a day to hang out. I plan to show her a few sights and then we’re getting together with my aunt and uncle and cousin for dinner. That should be fun. It will be nice catching up. We really haven’t been very close as we more or less grew up apart. I lived with dad, she lived with mom for a lot of years. It’s hard rebuilding a relationship when you live on opposite coasts, but we try to keep in touch. The ‘net helps. This is her first trip outside of Georgia I think. It will either expand her horizons or scare her to death. Hopefully the former!

And now, I gotta get it in gear to go help Marianna the “Microchickie” move into her new place. I think John and Deb are going to be there too, wish us luck… that girl has a bunch of stuff to move and rumor has it that stair are involved. Oh boy… I need high energy music I think… queue the “Na na na’s” maestro!

I just came out of a 3-day funk, myself. Feeling all blah-blah, and insomnia too. The only positive thing from it was a new blog to write in when I have insomnia..LOL

Hope you have an entirely wonderful time with your sister, and that Seattle doesn’t overwhelm her, but enchant her! I remember my first time visiting the Pacific NW, I was so excited about my adventure that I couldn’t wait to leave the South and come back! :x)

Good luck with stairs and heavy things…remember to take “cerveza” breaks!

Glad to see you back. I can relate to the ‘blah funk’
It sounds like you and your sister have some catching up to do, I hope the weather holds for you and you get to do some cool sight seeing. Have a great time. I grew up with my brother, and we see one another once a year, but I left home very young and we didn’t have much of a relationship when I did leave. I know how tough it is to build one when you’re an adult…I bet you guys will have a blast!

I knew you weren’t feeling well, but I didn’t know you had issues with insomnia & blah too! I’m so sorry, I wouldn’t have bugged you to come out!

I do hope you have a great time with your sister. And I mentioned to Leesa to go on a photo safari on Wednesday & she’s ok with it. Wanna see if we can find the Arboretum?

Yeah, I’m very familiar with how that goes. I’ve often been unable to switch my mind off at night…though not lately with the new job. ;)

I seem to suffer the same - don’t think i have had a decent nights sleep in months. Totally agree with silver willow - writing in my blog helps with the insomnia.

OK, you got lots of sympthatic posts above. So, I won’t repeat much. Sorry, hope you are feeling better bet you slept well after the stairs.

    The important thing though….

You got pictures of all the people slaving away (w/o stairs i might add) unloading the truck. Where the heck are the pictures of me working hard!!!!!! Have to get those in, just in case people want to accuse me of being as lazy!!!

All those kitchen boxes, I think i am having flashbacks!
