Survey Says…

Spent a good chunk of yesterday bouncing around the hospital getting various tests done. My urologist called a little while ago to let me know that while the kidney stone *has* moved, it’s still completely blocking the “output” from one kidney.

He’s tentatively recommending surgery but wants to check a few more things before scheduling.  He’s supposed to call me back later today with more details.  The biggest issue right now is the three day weekend, they won’t schedule “elective” surgery on a holiday so Tuesday is probably the earliest I can expect anything to happen.

To the degree that any surgery is “minor” this is supposed to be fairly simple. I don’t even know if I’ll be in the hospital overnight or not yet. Either way, I’ll be glad to get this over with!

The latest update is that that surgery is on for Tuesday afternoon. I’ve got to visit the doc again tomorrow to get some prep work out of the way (sign consent forms, get briefed on the surgery and what it will entail, etc). I don’t know if I’ll be in the hospital overnight or not at this point. Since the surgery is going to happen later on Tuesday, I may be there until early on Wednesday. I should find out all of that tomorrow… thanks for your kind thoughts everyone!

You should have a “Coming Out” party

So Al says you need a “coming out” party? And what would be the appropriate gift to bring to such a party? A six pack of beer (’cause everyone knows beer makes you pee a lot…or is that just me???)

Anyway, I’ve tagged you…maybe you can do it while you recuperate?

Best of luck to you…hope it all goes as smoothly as possible! :)

Glad that you have at least a time for your stone extraction. I feel a Flikr Set coming into creation for you.
