I.am.exhausted! On kind of a spur of the moment I decided to join a group of riders from sport-touring.net on a day ride yesterday. The plan was an ambitious one. Cross Stevens Pass on Hwy2 and visit Grand Coulee Dam. Then come back to western Washington via Hwy20 which only opened to traffic this past Thursday. It’s closed during the winter due to snow. This ride is normally called “The Cascade Loop.” It was a long ride, I put in 570 miles by the time I got home and was gone over 13 hours. When I got home, I unloaded the bike and basically fell into bed.
More on the ride, plus photos and maybe a little video once I recover!

Wow!!! 570 miles in 13 hours. My hat’s off to you. I’ve done 12 hours, but I’m certain in was about half the mileage of yours. Sounded like a fun day, though. Can’t wait to hear all about it and see the pics.

It was a great weekend for a ride. You went right by my house.

@Biker Betty - I was gone over 13 hours, but according to the GPS I was actually in the saddle for just over 10 hours. That still made for a long day!
@John - I should get directions, we could have stopped by and said “howdy!”
@Marianna - Actually, my hands ache more than anything! I take Ibuprofen before I leave, at lunch and when I get home and that takes care of most of the aches and pains…

My butt would hurt. I can’t even fly to Europe without leg cramps, and that’s only about 9 hours! Plus, the vibrating of the motor would likely make my legs all jittery. The power of passion to overcome the limits of the body (with a little ibuprofen)!

I think my Vanson pants make my butt look big in that pic.
Great ride that day, hopefully get to do it again in 08!
