Whew, I slept in this morning… planning to roll out of bed in plenty of time to log into Ticketmaster when The Police tickets went on sale at 10am PST. The only flaw in my plan was that tickets went on sale at 9am PST.
I logged in anyway, even though I was sure it would be sold out. It took me about 30 minutes of reloading, reloading, reloading… can I just say the text verification system that Ticketmaster uses sucks?! Finally a ticket popped up. All they had left was the uber, expensive gold hot seat package. I swallowed hard and bought it anyway. At least I’ll be close to the stage. And I get some kind of exclusive merchandise… no clue what it is!
I was really reluctant to pay that much for a concert ticket, but I figure when am I ever going to have the chance to see The Police in concert again? I never saw them back in the day, so this is a missed opportunity from my youth revisited. I can live with the cost from that perspective!
Anyone else manage to score tickets for the Seattle show? We should get together before or after the concert and have a mini-blogger bash!

Did you buy 2 tickets? Cuz if you did, I’m coming!

I actually tried finding two tickets together anywhere at any price point but it wasn’t happening. I figured someone would be willing to use the second ticket, but alas, no luck.

I did. Section 228 row 13. They were spendy but wow, not that spendy.
You got some great seats.

Now you’ll be able to see every move they make…

Heh heh… good one Terry!
Excellent John! Yeah I paid more than I should have but I wasn’t willing to risk missing this concert!

They’re playing Dodgers’ Stadium here.
No. Way. I hate huge arena concerts. Can’t think of ONE performer I’d go to an arena to see.
But you’re right… it’s a once in a lifetime…. if you love them, 10 years from now you’re only going to look back and be very happy you went!
If it makes you feel any better (and I think it will), I know someone who spent $700 on a Barbara Streisand concert ticket and wasn’t even sitting close!

Thanks Shephard, at least I can say didn’t pay that much for the ticket! But I would have if that’s all I could have gotten… so I can related to *ahem* whoever bought that ticket to Barbara!

Ooo…I wonder what the exclusive merchandise is….thats’ pretty cool.
And I’d pay an outrageous sum of money to see Evanescence…I know I would.

They aren’t playing any where remotely close to where I am… at least not yet!
