Lindsey and I just got back from seeing a screening of Bridge to Terabithia. With a movie based on a book, you never know how its going to turn out. Normally, not very well in my opinion. Not the case here at all! The movie is very faithful to the book! The casting is wonderful. The special effects work to reinforce the fact that Terabithia is an *imagined* world, not real at all except in the minds of the children. I could gush on and on, but then there would be no point in anyone reading my full review later this week. *grin*
If you’ve read the book you already know how special the story is, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. If you haven’t read the book, then I think you’re in for a treat if you catch this one when it opens. If you’re a hard-nosed cynic, I suppose you could find this movie a total bore. Anyone with a heart, I think, is going to appreciate the themes you’ll find in this bitter sweet tale.

The important thing with Terabithia, and I can’t emphasize this enough… DO NOT JUDGE IT BY THE TRAILER! This is not a fantasy-adventure movie by any stretch of the imagination. It’s a deeply moving drama and at times, a real tear-jerker.

My daughter and I are really looking forward to seeing this film. We loved the book….
I was wondering how it compared to the book.. just because the book is so not like the trailer… in someways.
Glad you made that clear… that it isn’t a fantasy-adventure film. Sounds wonderfuL!
