It goes to fast! I hope the same of my son, so if it's selfish, you're not alone in that wish.

Happy Birthday to your son!!!

Just from your posts... I am sure you are a great Father. One that your son will admire and try to be just like when he is older!

I too tend to worry and wonder if the decisions I have made will be the right ones. My son is 17 and I think about his future every day.

Being a parent is the hardest job of all.... In my opinion.

Times does go by too fast. When my eldest left for college this last fall I thought I was ready. I was teary-eyed. Everytime I went past his high school I was wishing he was still there. Now he's back home, as he hated dorm life and is now going to a local college. I'm glad to have some extra time with him.

Happy Birthday to Matt :)

I'm sure you're a great Dad! Shephards right! And besides...just the fact that you care enough to worry about it shows that you are!
Happy Birthday Matt!

Love this picture! A very Happy Birthday to your son, and the WISH for a wonderful year ahead!

I agree with Shephard...dragons, theater, cool music...you are on a much different page than other parents. Your page has a golden star on top! But more than that, your concern that you want to make a difference in your son's life, that you desire to be a good father...Michael, it sounds like you are already there.

I know that this is something we all fear as parents. Did we do a good enough job... will they look back on their childhood as "good times"? Will they be prepared as adults??

I think that as long as you gave them love and the benefit of all of your experience (the good and the bad) they will be equipped for life as adults... They can only give what they have received.

Your concern is enough to show how much you have cared...

Are you kidding? A dad who likes zombies, dragons, theatre and cool music?? He has to know his friends' fathers aren't even on the same page.

For myself, my mom made up for a lot of time in my teens, and I always think of those times the most, not my early childhood. :) Chances are, your mistakes of the past don't hold a lot of weight in your son's present life.

YAY! Happy Birthday to your son! Wow, 16, huh... I remember 16. Barely. LOL

I think it's real cool that they gave you a baby shower at work. Usually they do that for women, but it's cool to hear they gave it for you, too!

He has a great father ~ I'm sure he'll turn out just fine, Dad.
