I was just using a long exposure and a tripod mount so it looks brighter than it actually was to the eye. The reflection of what light there was off the snow helped too! The part that is realy messing with my mind is how much daylight you still have after 7:00pm up there in Washington. Down here in Alabama it is dark by 7:00 pm at this time of year.
