November 9 @ 11:01 amAm I the only one that changes eating habits for each season? There are all kinds of things I do differently in Fall/Winter vs Spring/Summer. Take for example the humble peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Simple right? Two slices of bread, peanut butter, jelly. Except once cold weather hits I inevitably toast the bread first. Never do that in warm weather. Likewise with grilled sandwiches, not in Summer but Fall, you bet. Soup… cold weather food, not so much when the temperatures are comfortable.
Am I strange?

I totally get this. I love toasted PB & J. And another fall fav is a Fluffer Nutter…Peanut Butter and Fluff (marshmello) on white bread with a HUGE glass of milk. Soooo comforting. And if you’ve never had one….DON’T, for the love of pete, have one or you will curse the day I told you about them…
;0]
I almost never cook in the summer. I only grill. I have been a baking fool of late.
So, Yeah…my eating habits change.
Hmmm, now I’m hungry…

I bet that’s normal, Mike. The hot/cold and summer/winter thing. Though I’m not sure about toating PB&J’s. Never heard of that. You may want to seek therapy for that. I recommend soup. lol

Your strange besides these quirky issues.
I eat more soup in winter time. And I eat more comfort-foods.

I love toasting PB sandwiches!! Now I want one
November 10 @ 11:41 am
Soup, stews and chowders.
The just don’t quite seem right in the hot weather, but they sure are good on days like today.
If you’re down in Renton, try the Crawfish Chowder at Jimmy Mac’s Roadhouse.
November 10 @ 2:52 pm
I eat at that Jimmy Mac’s all the time Al, a personal favorite and only about 10 minutes away from my house if the traffic isn’t too bad!
November 10 @ 7:01 pm
I don’t there is anything weird about that… I am trying to think of anything goofy that I do for eating. Apart from the holiday fare, I can’t think of anything.
November 11 @ 6:08 pm
I refuse to eat chili in July! But the minute the leaves change color, the wind turns chilly and the skies unleash their rainy season…All I want is a big bowl of hot chili, sprinkled with Tillamook cheese! YUM
November 14 @ 7:51 pm
I am definitely a seasonal eater. The only time I eat soup in summer or spring is if I’m sick and then only chicken noodle…Fall and winter however are soup, stew and casserole season. It’s also the time when I bake the most. Salads and Grilled anything rule the summer and spring.
