Peaceful…

Peaceful

I’ve been feeling so under the weather lately that I haven’t even left the house. This evening, lack of supplies finally forced me to the grocery store.  I’m a late night grocery shopping kind of guy.  I prefer to go when there are fewer people.  I don’t like crowds much.

Lately, we’ve had torrential rains and substantial flooding in parts of the Puget Sound.  Fortunately I live on a hill, no flooding worries for me. Also fortunate, it wasn’t raining tonight when I went to the store.  The moon was so beautiful shining through the clouds. After putting away the groceries I grabbed my camera and tripod and snapped a few shots.

We’ve had a lot of rain here too. My pond and barn are both flooded.
    That’s an awesome photo :)

Hope you will be feeling better soon, sounds like you’re having a rough time right now.

Yes late-night shopping rules! No screaming toddlers! And sometimes the bakery goods are half off :)

I was so relieved to be able to see the moon last night. I also live on a hill, so I don’t have to worry about the flooding, but I was getting awfully sick of the endless precipitation. Now we can all dry out before the next round.

Love this photo. I’m in Univ. Place and we had streets under water in some places, but nothing as bad as the puyallup valley.

This photo was taken using an Olympus E-500 DSLR with a 40-150mm lens. After some experimentation the best photo was obtained by putting the camera in shutter priority mode and using a fairly fast shutter time. Otherwise you get *too* much light from the moon and the photo is overexposed.
