September 29 @ 8:17 amOk, so I wake up and I’m deaf in one ear? What’s up with that?! My left ear has been bugging me since I got back from my trip. I wear earplugs when I ride long distance to cut down on the noise and five solid days of earplugs caused a little irritation. Apparently, in my left ear it caused a LOT of irritation! Hopefully this clears up… I don’t really want to visit more doctors!
Feels strange too…
Update: I can hear out of both ears again! I finally went to the local drug store and picked up an “ear wax cleaning kit” and that did the trick. It came with some ear drops and a squeeze bulb to rinse out your ears with warm water. A couple of applications of that and all seems to be fine again for now.

You did remove the earplugs, yes? Every once in a while, the voices in my head will pile furniture up against one of my eardrums, resulting in partial deafness. Poking them with a Q-tip seems to help.

Yikes. You aren’t taking lots of aspirin are you? Cuz that can cause ringing in the ear… might be related, thought I’d mention it, just in case.

My right ear has been clogged all week but it’s because of my allergies. I was driving earlier to one of the Stations & it finally popped. What a wonderful feeling!
I hope yours passes quickly.

Check for bugs lately?
I remember The twilight Zone episode where they dropped an earwig in a guys ear.
You haven’t pissed anyone off lately, have you?

It could be an infection of some sort… why not stab a Q-tip in there and see what happens. Maybe you need one of those wax contractions that uses heat principle to clear out your ear…

We (3 kids and self) have a lot of trouble with ears (due to allergies). After trying lots of things we discovered that a couple drops of hydrogen peroxide and a cotton ball clears it up nicely. The peroxide breaks down the wax and the cotton wicks it out. This is especially good as my daughter used to hae constant pain in one of her ears and could barely hear from the build up (narrow ear canals).
