This week’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is “Comfy.” This is my riding partner Jim getting comfy at Windy Ridge near Mt. St. Helens. Both of us wear full armor while riding. That means jacket, pants, gloves, boots and a full-face helmet. We’re often asked “Don’t you get hot wearing all that?”  The answer is that you stay pretty comfortable when you’re at speed, but yes, once you stop you do tend to heat up if the sun is out and the temperate is warm. Jim especially likes to strip down to whatever he’s wearing under the gear. I don’t know if he just tends to be warmer or if he’s a closet exhibitionist.

Ok, so I wake up and I’m deaf in one ear?  What’s up with that?! My left ear has been bugging me since I got back from my trip.  I wear earplugs when I ride long distance to cut down on the noise and five solid days of earplugs caused a little irritation. Apparently, in my left ear it caused a LOT of irritation! Hopefully this clears up… I don’t really want to visit more doctors!

Feels strange too…

Update: I can hear out of both ears again! I finally went to the local drug store and picked up an “ear wax cleaning kit” and that did the trick.  It came with some ear drops and a squeeze bulb to rinse out your ears with warm water. A couple of applications of that and all seems to be fine again for now.

The beta version of Windows Live Writer has been refreshed. If you’re using this tool you’ll want to download it again and update to the latest version. Then, if you’re a Flickr user you’ll want to install the new release of the Flickr4Writer plug-in to easily insert photos from your collection into your blog posts.

Clearly I cannot be allowed to walk through the toy department at Target by myself… they have such cool toys these days… must… play… with… toys!  Errr… I mean “props”… yeah that’s it, props!

Grown ups can play too… right?  Right?!

Stacie started a new weekly meme where you post a short video. I didn’t have an *actual* video ready for this week. Unfortunately I didn’t take the video camera on my recent motorcycle trip due to technical issues.  Instead, I prepared another video slideshow set to music using photos I took while on the trip.  Good enough?

I’m back safe and sound. What a *fantastic* weekend! More on that later, I haven’t even taken all my gear off yet!

The power was out when I left the house so I couldn’t post! I’m sitting in Ellensburg, WA now waiting for my friend from Canada to arrive so we can head south together.

The weather is pretty nice here, which makes up for the fact it was miserable coming throgh the mountains from Seattle.

The forecast for the rest of the weekend is excellent. Our weekend should be a blast. Hope yours is too!

Stacie has started a new meme for Tuesdays that has you posting video clips.  My first one is of course, motorcycling! This is a video I did a while back but never posted to my blog.  This is a short clip of a run through the Gilford Pinchot National Forest. I confess, I used this one because it was all ready to go!  I’ll try to come up with something besides motorcycling videos in the future!

I mentioned recently that I like dynamic weather… good thing ‘cuz we’ve had plenty lately! Saturday was mostly sunny until later in the evening. Clouds started rolling in at that point.  I decided to cruise down to a park not far from home and snap a few photos of the sunset.  It was a gorgeous evening.  Very humid today with rain definitely coming.  My ride at the end of the week may prove to be a bit on the damp side!
