Jeez, the image formatting seems really powerful in Live Writer! I’m pretty impressed with this so far!
Edit: And you can edit and update your posts easily too!
August 21 @ 11:58 amLeesa blogged about a new Microsoft tool called Windows Live Writer today. It’s a tool you install on your PC that let’s you create WYSIWYG posts in an editor that then automatically post to your blog. It supports photos and formatting and all that good stuff. You can learn more about it at John’s blog. Leesa has it working with her Blogger blog and if you can read this, I guess it works just fine with my custom WordPress installation too! Hmmm… does spell check too… nice!

You can read the trip report from our little two day adventure over here.
Plenty more photos from the trip on my Flickr account.
I hope to assemble a short video this week too.

This week’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is “Youth.” And even though I’m away on a road trip, I decided to play anyway! I’m actually writing this Thursday night and if everything works, it should auto-publish itself in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Cross your fingers! Of course, if you’re reading this it DID work so no need really, to cross your fingers. So… uh… strike that.
August 18 @ 5:52 am*Yawn* Up early for road trip departure… had the strangest dream just before I woke up though. I was in a room with a small handful of people. I thought we were there to prepare for a test but instead we actually had to *take* the test. We were all frustrated because the instructor was on the other side of a screen where we couldn’t see him. And he wouldn’t respond to us, but he was loudly talking to someone we couldn’t see. So we decided to go ahead and take the test. Which consisted of questions about auto racing. And I remember being upset because the answer sheet was part of the test booklet and it was difficult flipping back and forth to read the questions and then mark the answer, I kept losing my place and reading the wrong test question.
How strange is that? I’m almost afraid to know what THAT dream could possible mean…
Ah well, I’m out of here until late Saturday, have a great weekend!

Ok, not enough motorcycling going on around here lately. Time to change that! Jim and I are heading to Stevenson, WA tomorrow. We’ll overnight there and find our way home sometime on Saturday.
Why Stevenson? Heck, it’s at the end of a bunch of good roads and they have a motel! Looks like they have a bunch of good resturants too, and that counts. It’s really nice relaxing over a good meal with your drink of choice after a long day on the road.
Photos and video late this weekend or early next week no doubt!
August 16 @ 8:11 pmSo apparently the stats tool I was using has disappeared into the ether along with BlogClicker. Guess I need to track down a new stats provider. Anyone have a recommendation they’d like to share?

Yeah don’t get too excited… this one is self-powered and doesn’t go anywhere! I finally decided to retire an ancient stair-stepper I ahem… occasionally use for cardio exercise. Frankly I avoid using it, its death on my knees and isn’t very well built in the first place. After looking at what’s available I decided to go with a recumbent exercise bike. I used a similiar model as part of my physical therapy recovering from my broken ankle.
So this bad boy Schwinn Model 223 has been ordered from Nautilus and should be here in a week or two. I’m going to re-arrange my living room a bit to make room for it there. I figure that way I can watch TV while I work out. ![]()

In order to stop Stacie from whining at me further, here are the photos from our Abbotsford trip.
Given that she just solo’d, I’m sure she’s got aviation pumping through her veins! Far be it from me to deny her a further fix of flying goodness.
It was a great day. We took a tour bus up through Clipper Vacations. Comfort-wise it worked well but their schedule wasn’t as good as it could have been. We missed a little flying at the beginning and had to head back to the bus prior to the Snowbirds finishing their routine. Next year we’ll probably drive up, and maybe camp there overnight. That way we can catch two days of the show as really, there is too much to cram into one day.
Two days is probably about right. We didn’t even get to see the static displays, the flying was non-stop and all of it interesting. We barely pulled ourselves away long enough to grab a bite to eat! It was cloudy and overcast most of the day but the sun came out in the late afternoon. Just enough to get a light sunburn!
One nice thing about the tour package, it included box seats along the runway. This gives you a comfortable place to sit and an unrestricted view of the performances. I opted to leave the video camera at home this year but next year I think we’ll lug it along and see if we can edit together an interesting clip or two.
All in all, we had a blast! You can check out many more photos from the trip at Flickr.
