This week’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is “Youth.” And even though I’m away on a road trip, I decided to play anyway! I’m actually writing this Thursday night and if everything works, it should auto-publish itself in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Cross your fingers! Of course, if you’re reading this it DID work so no need really, to cross your fingers. So… uh… strike that.
I’m featuring my kids again this week, because I was going through my Flickr collection recently and noticing how much they have changed over the years. This first photo was taken in 2000 or 2001 while we were on vacation in Vancouver, BC. The second photo was taken just a few weeks ago while we were again on vacation here in Washington.
Hard to believe how they have grown and matured. They are 10 and 15 now. Matt will be driving next year, Lindsey will be going into Junior High. Where have the years gone?! I note though, that some things remain the same. Matt is still wearing camouflage and Lindsey still has a predilection for lime green. They’re still pretty close as brother and sister too… though I suspect that may change once Matt starts dating and Lindsey hits her own teen years. Guess we’ll see how things go. ![]()

I wouldn’t be surprised to see them remain close. I have two sons and last year the younger (20) bought two ballgame tickets for his older sibling’s birthday, hoping they could go together. But his brother took his girlfriend instead. Very sad for a parent to watch.
But they’re still best friends and now go out altogether to the ball game, my boys and their girlfriends.

Great comparison. Like it lots.

Hope you are having fun. And being safe. I don’t wanna have to come up there and nurse your silly self.

I was the big sister, but it would have been nice to have a big brother to look out for me for a change.
Allows enjoy your take on the theme.
