I have two sons and last year the younger (20) bought two ballgame tickets for his older sibling's birthday, hoping they could go together. But his brother took his girlfriend instead. Very sad for a parent to watch. But they're still best friends and now go out altogether to the ball game, my boys and their girlfriends. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them remain close.
