I decided to celebrate July 4th by going for a ride. Big suprise right? I was hoping to hook up with some other riders from Sport-Touring.net but we failed to connect. That’s not so unusual when you’re coming from different parts of the state and have only a notional idea what time you’re going to hit a particular spot on the map. I still had a blast! And the best part was on the way back home, I hit 10,000 miles on the ZZR. Hopefully the first of many miles to come.

God, Michael, what a view. Wait. I’m not calling YOU a god. Well, maybe. In a strange way. Regardless, incredible view. I really miss hills. And mountains. And green. And snow. Sigh.
Can I move now?!

The weather did indeed cooperate until I got home… minor showers and a few booms of thunder after that. Yes M, the terrain up this way is incredible! What amazes me most is the variety of scenery available in the NW. We have it all from lush rain forests to red desert landscape that you’d swear was on Mars. And unfortunately Shephard, a full face helmet keeps the wind OFF your face… and the bugs too! One of the less glamerous aspects of riding is the need to scrub bugs off your visor at ever rest stop!
