This week’s Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt theme is automobiles(s). It seems an appropriate theme now that summer is in full swing. After all, what’s more American than the traditional summer road trip? I drag the kids off on a trip every summer without fail. I try not to over do it but I think they enjoy it. We pick a destination and head off, with no real schedule to keep or mileage we have to make. I like to stop along the way for photos or to check out an interesting road side attraction. I don’t remember my parents ever taking time for that sort of thing. This particular photo was from a trip down to Northern California 2 or 3 years ago. We camped our way down on an adventure through the Redwood forests of Oregon and California. This is the traditional “driving the car through a tree” photo. My son snapped this one for me.

For those interested, my latest review has now been published. You can see what I thought of Superman Returns at Hollywood Jesus.
June 28 @ 8:17 pmAhhh… the new Stephanie Plum novel by Janet Evanovich is out in paperback finally. I always wait for the paperback because I find them easier to read (not to mention cheaper). This one is “Eleven on Top” and of course, continues the misadventures of Stephanie as a bounter hunter. This is one of my favorite series I have to admit. A great blend of action and humor. Well worth checking out if you enjoy a good detective thriller… of a sort anyway.

June 26 @ 3:12 amWell, YouTube managed to get the video posted first so I’ll embed it for now. I’ll likely switch it over to Google when it’s available there. This is Fulton Canyon (Highway 206) in North-Central Oregon. Enjoy!
If the embedded video doesn’t work for you, you can jump directly to the video at YouTube.
Update: Embedded video now hosted on Google Video as they seem to stream a bit more reliably.

Man what a great weekend… this may be my favorite overall ride to date. I’ve got plenty of photos to process and I’ve already assembled the first of several videos that will spawn from this weekend’s activities. The video has been uploaded to Google Video and YouTube, I’m just waiting for one of them to go live so I can link it. Hopefully that will happen sometime on Monday. To whet your appetite, here’s a photo from the entrance to Fulton Canyon in North-Central Oregon. The first video is a 7 minute trip through the canyon in both directions.

Greetings from Oregon. I’m settled in my hotel room, hiding from the 95 degree heat! I had a great ride down. It was so good I may go back the same way. As you can see, I had great views of Mt. Saint Helens on the way. I’m about to grab dinner, then I may go explore a few local roads once things cool off a little this evening. Back in Seattle tomorrow!
June 24 @ 8:12 amHave a great weekend all… I’m heading out the door to fuel the bike, check the tire pressure and start trekking South towards Oregon. I should get great photos of the mountains today, the weather is absolutely perfect! I’ll try to post a moblog this evening when I reach The Dalles.

Marianna asked me to post a few photos of the Shutterfly Photobook I mentioned in a post earlier this week. I went with the black suede on a hardcover book. Other materials are available, including leather. You can also opt for a softcover if you prefer.
The interior pages are archival quality paper and the printing is simply stunning. The quality is every bit as good as any photographic coffee table book you would buy at your local book store. You have a lot of control over what the interior pages look like, how many photos are on each page, and their size and orientation.
A few interior photos after the jump below!
June 21 @ 9:04 pmYour managing editor e-mailing you to say that you got the nod to attend the press screening and review Superman Returns will perk you up a bit. In case you were curious…
