May 26 @ 3:05 pmI’ve been watching movies lately based on recommendations from other bloggers. Well, I’ve been intending too anyway! I’ve had these two movies from Netflix for weeks now and finally found time to watch them both last night. What great movies they both were!
First, I watched “Sliding Doors” because Pam recommended it to me. I really like Gwyneth Paltrow and she’s great in this movie. The premise is an interesting one, we see two versions of the movie intertwined. In one she comes home and finds her boyfriend in bed with another woman. In the other, she’s delayed and comes home later, missing out on his infidelity. As the movie unfolds, we move back and forth between the storylines until all is resolved at the end.
Next, I watched “Music From Another Room” courtesy of Shephard’s recommendation. This one had me laughing so hard I was crying at times. Jude Law, Jennifer Tilly and Martha Plimpton star among others. Jude Law plays Danny, who as a child helps his father deliver Anna. He pledges at the age of five that he will some day marry her. He moves to England with his father and as an adult returns to the States and re-enters the lives of Anna and her family.
Now, I’m out of movies for the moment… if you have a recommendation, leave a comment! I’m always looking to expand my horizons when it comes to film.

Well, at the risk of tarnishing my recommendation rating, lol….
If you like touching father & son movies, and you don’t mind some easy sub-titles, I suggest “Together.” It has a slow moment or two, but you care about the kid, so it holds your attention. And it’s one of the most touching films I’ve seen in a while.
And if you haven’t seen “Kung Fu Hustle,” it’s freakin’ hilarious! Very entertaining.
