I left the house yesterday to do two things… put gas in the car and buy an assortment of round brightly colored ‘dots’ at an office supply store. I use the 3/4″ dots as an aiming point when I shoot on Thursdays as the bright color shows up well even in the gray murk of a Seattle Spring day.  That was it, two things… no problem right?

Wrong… I shouldn’t be allowed out to shop without adult oversight. I passed GI Joe’s.  GI Joe’s does not sell gas and/or stick-on dots. I stopped anyway.  I left with a new soft case for one of my rifles and a couple of new bore brushes. I continue to the office supply place.

But wait, I’m passing Work and More, one of my favorite places to browse.  No gas, no dots. They sell all kinds of safety gear for construction workers as well as manly clothing.  I left with a new Carhartt jacket that was on clearance and a pair of amber safety glasses, because the two pair I already own are somehow insufficient.

Continuing on… Walmart is next.  They might have dots, I didn’t check.  I did however buy a selection of colored stones, small glass bowls and beveled mirrors that I intend to use for a series of photo projects. Oh, and a copy of “Chicken Little” to watch with the kids this weekend.

Finally, I’m at Office Depot.  Hooray, they have dots!  I buy a package of neon green and a package of neon pink. I’m ready to shoot this afternoon!

Then, when I get home… I order a new riding jacket from my favorite online motorcycle store, New Enough. Hey, at least it was on sale!
